How To Build
You have to do this steps twice, because you will need one for the bottom and one for the top! The top must be appr. 5mm Bigger on each side!!! Don't forget this because otherwise the top will not fit onto the bottom box!!!
First you have to determinate the size of your Box you want to have. In my case i wanted this size: Height: 3cm, Depth: 18,5cm, Width: 24cm.
Write down your whished height, depth and length and now do some math. The width of your cardboard you have to cut off is depth+2height x length+2height. In my case this is 30x24.5cm
I made a template first (with normal paper) and then cut off the cardboard with my scalpel. Now you have to mark the side walls. So messaure your desired height from each side and draw a line there. The Next step is to fold the side walls up. For this step i "engraved" all my lines with the back side of the scalpel. You also have to cut in the 4 Sides where you fold the outer sides to the inner side (and glue there).
Now you can fold the sides up. Glue in every corne (where the outer side is meeting the inner side) and thats how to make the box(es).
The Next Steps are only optinal and can be applied to the top or / and the bottom box.
- Print any design you want to a paper and glue it on the box.
- You also could cut out some spaces to easier lift of the top box.
- Fill the Box with foam (and may glue it into the box so it will hold better)
- ... (any idea you have!)
